Where it began

The Rang Story was founded out of a simple wish: to keep India’s textile heritage in everyday use rather than behind glass. We bring together thoughtfully curated handcrafted sarees, suits and artisanal pieces that celebrate craftsmanship built over generations.

Our inspiration comes from two places at once — the quiet of the hills, and the noise of colour that runs through India’s cultural traditions. Rang [रंग] is the Hindi word for colour. It is also the reason we are here.

The hands behind it

We work with skilled artisans who still practise age-old techniques: hand block printing, hand embroidery, and natural dyeing. Each of these is slow by nature. A block is carved from teak by hand. A colour is coaxed out of a plant. A motif is stamped, one press at a time, down the length of a fabric.

That slowness is why no two pieces are identical, and why we would not have it any other way.
